VOLPEDIA / FIVE-PART GUIDE

Temple of Styx and Final Boss

01

Understand Styx route structure

The Temple offers several narrow branches. You need a Satyr Sack to proceed and may find it after clearing a branch. Do not force optional routes once you have the objective unless you deliberately need extra rewards. Practical check: before the next escape, identify the one action or resource that will make this step easier. The best guide is one you can test room by room, rather than a fixed sequence that depends on random rewards.

02

Defeat poison efficiently

Satyr and other threats can apply poison, which remains dangerous until you cleanse it. Know the location of curing fountains and break line of sight against beam enemies. In a real run, watch for the exact moment when this plan stops being comfortable: an enemy projectile, an unfavorable chamber reward or a poor health total. That point tells you whether to change positioning or build direction.

03

Save resources for the Surface

A good Styx route leaves defensive choices intact, not merely a high displayed damage number. Reconsider whether a dangerous optional miniboss is worth its reward when your HP is already low. Try this deliberately on your next attempt, without also changing weapon and Mirror setup at the same time. Keeping other variables stable makes the result easier to judge and helps you learn what worked.

04

Read Hades rather than race him

The final boss uses phases, spin attacks and beam pressure. Bait attacks from a safe distance, use cover when appropriate and attack during recovery instead of holding your combo through every tell. If the encounter becomes risky, first preserve an open path to safety. There is rarely a reason to sacrifice an entire Death Defiance just to complete one more attack animation during a dangerous telegraph.

05

Keep playing after the first clear

A successful escape is a major milestone but not the complete story or progression system. Continue speaking with residents and following long-term narrative events on later attempts. Before leaving the region, ask whether you gained combat consistency, permanent resources or useful narrative progress. Any of those makes the next run stronger, even when this particular escape does not succeed.
