Overview

A mysterious returning figure tied to Kalos and its history.

02

How it works

AZ is among the people officially presented in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. He is a familiar figure for players who know Kalos, and his presence connects the new Lumiose story to the region’s older mysteries.

03

How to play

Pay attention to conversations and environmental details surrounding AZ rather than seeking a battle ranking for him. His importance is chiefly narrative.

04

Mistakes to avoid

Do not treat a story NPC as if it were a catchable playable Pokémon or reveal late-game plot conclusions in the character list.

IN-DEPTH GUIDE

01

Story context

Pokémon X and Y established AZ as a person with deep ties to Kalos history. In Z-A, his return signals that events in Lumiose have older roots.
