01

Overview

Close, distant and area attacks have different geometry.

02

How it works

Some attacks travel forward, some strike nearby targets and others affect an area. Range and direction influence whether an attack hits a moving Pokémon.

03

How to play

Choose moves for their practical reach. A good elemental matchup is not useful if the opponent constantly stays outside your effective range.

04

Mistakes to avoid

Do not assume all attacks of one element have identical range.
