Understand how dynamic smoke grenades support movement and site control without promising patch-proof lineups.
What a smoke changes
CS2 features dynamic volumetric smoke grenades. Their tactical value comes from blocking or reshaping sightlines and influencing how opponents can observe your team.
A smoke does not automatically secure a location. Players can reposition, use other utility or exploit gaps in your plan while you move.
Coordinate with teammates
Call when the smoke is intended to activate and which sightline it blocks. Ask who covers the team while players cross or enter.
One well-timed smoke with a coordinated follow-up can be more useful than several thrown without a shared objective. Save some utility for the next stage of a round.
Test lineups in the current build
Practice grenade paths and landing points in a private supported practice environment. Confirm results with the current game version before trusting old clips.
Do not publish exact permanent lineups without a repeatable in-game check. Map geometry and grenade interactions can change through updates.
