First, identify what kind of lag you see
Roblox Support distinguishes network lag from graphics lag and system lag. If other players warp or interactions are delayed, your connection may be unstable. If the picture stutters but controls and networking otherwise work, graphics performance may be the bigger issue.
A strong troubleshooting process starts by naming the symptom. Try the same experience again before changing several unrelated settings at once.
When other players appear to teleport
Network lag can appear as people jumping between positions or actions taking a long time to register. Roblox recommends reviewing connection issues if the problem matches this pattern.
Test a stable network connection, pause large downloads and compare your experience with a different supported network when possible. Avoid sharing account information with websites that claim to repair connection problems.
Lower in-experience graphics quality
On supported platforms, open the in-experience menu, typically with Esc on PC, and go to Settings. Turn off automatic graphics quality when available, then lower the quality setting to reduce the rendering workload.
Lower settings can make the image look less detailed. They may improve smoothness but do not increase the capacity of your internet connection. Exact menu options may vary across devices and versions.
- 01Open the Roblox experience menu and enter Settings.
- 02Find Graphics Quality. Switch from Automatic to Manual if that choice is available.
- 03Move the quality lower and compare whether stuttering improves.
Reduce competing workloads
Roblox Support notes that other resource-heavy apps can compete with the experience for system performance. Close unnecessary programs and test again after the device has cooled down if it became hot.
If the hardware cannot run a particularly demanding experience comfortably, a different device or a less demanding experience may be the practical solution. Avoid installing unverified performance tools.
