Volpedia strategy: Before trying Coronacht, Malphon or an unusual aspect, examine whether your old Mirror choices still fit. A few well-chosen changes can be more valuable than repeating the same build through every weapon.

How it works

Spend early Darkness on movement and revives if they are available. Greater Reflex and Death Defiance give practical room to learn bosses; these improvements often help more than tiny damage optimizations.

VOLPEDIA / FIVE-PART GUIDE

Mirror of Night Upgrade Priority

01

Secure reliable survival

Spend early Darkness on movement and revives if they are available. Greater Reflex and Death Defiance give practical room to learn bosses; these improvements often help more than tiny damage optimizations. Practical check: before the next escape, identify the one action or resource that will make this step easier. The best guide is one you can test room by room, rather than a fixed sequence that depends on random rewards.

02

Learn the alternate talents

Most Mirror rows have a choice, not one universal best talent. Shadow Presence rewards backstabs; Fiery Presence helps on fresh targets. Death Defiance and Stubborn Defiance serve different survival patterns. In a real run, watch for the exact moment when this plan stops being comfortable: an enemy projectile, an unfavorable chamber reward or a poor health total. That point tells you whether to change positioning or build direction.

03

Connect Mirror to boons

Privileged Status rewards two concurrent curses, while Family Favorite suits broader Olympian mixtures. Choose based on the effects that your weapon can maintain consistently across rooms. Try this deliberately on your next attempt, without also changing weapon and Mirror setup at the same time. Keeping other variables stable makes the result easier to judge and helps you learn what worked.

04

Plan rewards and rerolls

Dark Foresight helps shape reward opportunities; Fated Persuasion steers boon choices after offers appear. These are powerful but should not be mistaken for the ability to guarantee any exact synergy. If the encounter becomes risky, first preserve an open path to safety. There is rarely a reason to sacrifice an entire Death Defiance just to complete one more attack animation during a dangerous telegraph.

05

Respec for a new weapon

Before trying Coronacht, Malphon or an unusual aspect, examine whether your old Mirror choices still fit. A few well-chosen changes can be more valuable than repeating the same build through every weapon. Before leaving the region, ask whether you gained combat consistency, permanent resources or useful narrative progress. Any of those makes the next run stronger, even when this particular escape does not succeed.
