Volpedia strategy: After each major upgrade, ask whether your missing piece is damage, safety, crowd control or boss burst. A strong build is coherent under your current conditions; it is not just a list of top-ranked boons.

How it works

Attack, Special, Cast, Dash and Call are central boon slots. A new offer competing for a slot generally replaces the old choice; minor support boons can stack separately. Choose the primary slots that truly suit your Infernal Arm.

VOLPEDIA / FIVE-PART GUIDE

Olympian Boons and Duo Builds

01

Understand the five core slots

Attack, Special, Cast, Dash and Call are central boon slots. A new offer competing for a slot generally replaces the old choice; minor support boons can stack separately. Choose the primary slots that truly suit your Infernal Arm. Practical check: before the next escape, identify the one action or resource that will make this step easier. The best guide is one you can test room by room, rather than a fixed sequence that depends on random rewards.

02

Pick a god for a reason

Zeus favors repeated lightning opportunities, Artemis critical bursts, Aphrodite Weak, Athena Deflect, Ares Doom, Dionysus Hangover, Demeter Chill and Poseidon knockback. Hermes and Chaos support different kinds of utility and risk. In a real run, watch for the exact moment when this plan stops being comfortable: an enemy projectile, an unfavorable chamber reward or a poor health total. That point tells you whether to change positioning or build direction.

03

Plan for prerequisites

Duo boons need compatible setup and are not guaranteed to appear. A fast Malphon build often benefits from Hangover, but a Merciful End route requires a different Ares/Athena plan with consistent trigger opportunities. Try this deliberately on your next attempt, without also changing weapon and Mirror setup at the same time. Keeping other variables stable makes the result easier to judge and helps you learn what worked.

04

Use rarity and rerolls wisely

A Rare boon can be valuable, but the right ordinary boon may define an entire run. Reserve Fated Persuasion for impactful offers and avoid exhausting rerolls chasing a specific named Duo before all prerequisites exist. If the encounter becomes risky, first preserve an open path to safety. There is rarely a reason to sacrifice an entire Death Defiance just to complete one more attack animation during a dangerous telegraph.

05

Evaluate the actual run

After each major upgrade, ask whether your missing piece is damage, safety, crowd control or boss burst. A strong build is coherent under your current conditions; it is not just a list of top-ranked boons. Before leaving the region, ask whether you gained combat consistency, permanent resources or useful narrative progress. Any of those makes the next run stronger, even when this particular escape does not succeed.
