How it works
God Mode is designed to make incoming damage more forgiving and continues scaling resistance after deaths. It does not remove the story, the core loop or the need to select boons and learn attacks.
Practical strategy
The right difficulty setting is the one that makes learning and exploration enjoyable. You can continue to investigate story arcs, weapons and relationships without racing a timer or benchmarking against other players.
Common mistake to avoid
Do not treat one particular boon or drop as guaranteed; adapt the guide to the run you receive.
God Mode and Accessibility Options
Know what God Mode does
God Mode is designed to make incoming damage more forgiving and continues scaling resistance after deaths. It does not remove the story, the core loop or the need to select boons and learn attacks. Practical check: before the next escape, identify the one action or resource that will make this step easier. The best guide is one you can test room by room, rather than a fixed sequence that depends on random rewards.
Use death as feedback
After a loss, inspect whether positioning, HP management, insufficient damage or unfamiliar boss mechanics caused the failure. Permanent progression continues even when the run ends. In a real run, watch for the exact moment when this plan stops being comfortable: an enemy projectile, an unfavorable chamber reward or a poor health total. That point tells you whether to change positioning or build direction.
Improve one skill at a time
Practice safe dash direction in Tartarus, lava navigation in Asphodel and boss cover in Elysium. Learning everything at once can overwhelm the ability to notice progress. Try this deliberately on your next attempt, without also changing weapon and Mirror setup at the same time. Keeping other variables stable makes the result easier to judge and helps you learn what worked.
Build for comfort
Keepsakes such as Lucky Tooth or Evergreen Acorn are useful while learning. Aegis blocking can create more time to read danger than an unfamiliar high-speed weapon. If the encounter becomes risky, first preserve an open path to safety. There is rarely a reason to sacrifice an entire Death Defiance just to complete one more attack animation during a dangerous telegraph.
Return when ready
The right difficulty setting is the one that makes learning and exploration enjoyable. You can continue to investigate story arcs, weapons and relationships without racing a timer or benchmarking against other players. Before leaving the region, ask whether you gained combat consistency, permanent resources or useful narrative progress. Any of those makes the next run stronger, even when this particular escape does not succeed.
