Each application consumes one trim template and one trim material. The duplication estimate assumes you already have one original of every chosen pattern; obtaining templates and duplicate base ingredients are not counted.
Armor trims use a smithing template, an armor piece and a trim material. Applying the trim consumes the template and the material, but retains the armor. Repeating the same trim on several pieces requires a separate template for each piece. You can duplicate a template with diamonds and a matching block or ingredient, depending on the pattern.
The visual preview is an original concept diagram to help compare colors and pattern names. It does not depict the actual official 3D armor texture, and the patterns here are illustrative. In the game, appearance depends on each specific smithing template, armor type and version.
Is the template reusable? Not for repeated applications. The calculator shows four consumed templates and the number of optional copies if you begin with one of each chosen type.
Can I equip trim material that matches the base armor? Availability and appearance can differ by version; the editor is a design reference, not a live game validation service.
Where can I find a trim? Templates are obtained from specific structures and loot systems. Always check your Minecraft edition and version.
