Compare the strengths of farm layouts before you start a save, based on your preferred daily activities.

01 / 04

A farm map changes your starting tradeoffs

Farm layouts have different amounts of open farming space and different environmental advantages. The Standard Farm emphasizes room for planting and animals, while other maps favor specific activities such as fishing or foraging.

Choose a layout based on what you enjoy doing repeatedly, not only a creator ranking. Farm selection is a long-term choice for the save.

02 / 04

Match the farm to your play style

Riverland has stronger fishing emphasis, Forest provides a foraging-oriented experience, Hill-top includes mining-related areas and Four Corners gives useful separated zones for organization and multiplayer.

Beach changes the farming tradeoffs; Meadowlands is designed around an animal-friendly start. Each choice still allows you to explore the wider world.

FarmMost relevant strengthTradeoff to consider
StandardPlenty of open spaceFewer special map perks
ForestForaging-focused featuresLess open crop area
RiverlandFishing-oriented layoutWater divides building space
Four CornersSeparated working zonesLess uninterrupted open area
MeadowlandsAnimal-focused openingDifferent early-resource balance
03 / 04

Plan your first season, not your final megafarm

A few crop plots, storage and a clear route through your buildings are enough for the opening weeks. Leave room to rearrange machines as new options open up.

You can expand slowly. A highly optimized endgame design is not necessary to enjoy a first playthrough.

Check current map availability

Additional farm maps have been introduced through game updates. Always check the available selection and current platform version when following a screenshot or an older recommendation.

This overview avoids claiming that one map makes the most money, because that depends on your play style and farm plan.
