Learn the catch meter, control the green bar and approach difficult fish with gradual skill practice.
Understand the two movements
Fishing is not just pressing the button when a fish bites. Once the minigame begins, you control a catching bar while the fish moves. Keeping the fish within the bar raises catch progress; losing contact reduces it.
Short controlled inputs can help you follow a moving fish more smoothly than holding the control without adjustment. Different fish have different movement patterns, so one timing approach is not perfect for every catch.
Start with manageable targets
Practice in a familiar body of water and focus on keeping the bar steady. As Fishing skill improves, more equipment and options become available.
Do not compare progress from a beginner rod with a video using advanced tackle without recognizing the equipment difference. Equipment, skill and specific fish difficulty all matter.
- 01Cast into reachable water and wait for the bite.
- 02Track the fish instead of chasing every sudden movement.
- 03Repeat easier catches to learn the bar’s momentum.
Plan around time and location
Some fish appear under particular weather, season, time or location conditions. Check the specific fish entry when working toward a bundle instead of randomly fishing in every location.
When aiming for the Community Center, carry a clear target list. Catching any fish is useful practice, but only the requested fish will fill that particular bundle slot.
