Animal Farming and Artisan Goods: detailed walkthrough
Start small
A few chickens are a good introduction to feeding, petting and collecting products. Build reliable seasonal routines before filling every building; purchasing livestock adds work even when the crop fields are empty.
Understand building tiers
Barns and coops unlock different animal species as upgraded. Each type has its own product cycle and equipment, such as a Milk Pail for cows and Cheese Press for dairy. Do not expect a rabbit to produce eggs.
Keep winter food available
Store hay and pay attention to indoor feeding when grass is inaccessible. Pigs do not discover truffles outdoors during winter; unlike milk and eggs, truffle economics depend on weather and outside access.
Think about goals other than gold
Animal goods can help with bundles, tailoring, gifts and collections. Keep at least one unusual product before processing everything and review special late-game animal routes separately.
