Stardew Valley 1.6 Features: detailed walkthrough
Meadowlands and pets
Meadowlands Farm starts with a coop, two chickens and blue grass, encouraging an animal-first farming style. Update 1.6 also adds pet options unlocked through progression and expanded character dialogue and festival variety.
The mastery layer
The Mastery Cave adds long-term rewards after developing the five core skills. It does not replace the skill progression curve; it gives players who have already explored the fundamentals an additional target.
New machines and harvests
Dehydrator, Fish Smoker, Bait Maker, Mushroom Log and Heavy Furnace create new decisions about processing. Carrot, Summer Squash, Broccoli and Powdermelon expand crops acquired from different sources.
Festivals and varied content
Desert Festival, Trout Derby and SquidFest create additional schedule choices, while other balance updates touch prices, gifts and bundles. Check the game version when looking at old farming optimization guides.
