Overview
Trace a missing recipe to ingredients, nearby stations and progression.
How it works
Crafting is based on items held and supported stations; the Guide can preview recipe requirements from a material.
How to use it
Build an organized workshop with a Workbench, Furnace, Anvil and later specialized stations.
Mistakes to avoid
Do not assume every station is replaceable by the newest one.
Crafting Stations and Recipes: detailed guide
Diagnose a missing recipe
Keep the relevant materials in inventory, not only in distant chests, and stand within range of the correct station. The Guide NPC can show you which recipes use a material and what conditions may be needed. Write down the missing ingredient rather than revisiting the same shop repeatedly.
Grow the workshop
Start with Workbench and Furnace, then add Anvil, Sawmill, Loom and potion stations. Underworld discoveries provide Hellforge progression. Hardmode introduces higher-tier Anvils and Forges, followed by the Ancient Manipulator late in the game.
Track long crafting chains
Items such as Night’s Edge, Terra Blade, Zenith and certain accessory combinations span multiple world stages. Preserve unique components and compare the chain before selling early gear. Use an extra chest for unfinished recipes and collect materials during normal exploration.
Organize sustainably
Place the most used stations together and label material chests by ore, herbs, boss drops, building and equipment. Grow potion ingredients and save fishing materials. A compact base that reduces searching helps more than an elaborate workshop that is difficult to navigate.
