Bought a Sims 4 Marketplace item but cannot see it in game? Follow a platform-aware checklist for purchases, My Collection, downloads, and the correct EA account before contacting support.
Identify how and where you bought the content
Start by distinguishing an Expansion Pack, Game Pack, Stuff Pack, Kit or Maker Pack from a Gallery creation. The Marketplace is for purchasable content; the Gallery is for sharing creations. Those systems do not use the same discovery and installation flow, so looking in the wrong one can make an owned item appear missing.
Note whether you bought the item inside the game, on the web Marketplace or through the EA app. Web Marketplace purchasing is for PC and Mac users, while console players purchase in game. Confirm that the relevant platform account is connected to the EA account used for the transaction.
- 01Record the name of the missing item and purchase platform.
- 02Check the EA account currently signed in.
- 03Identify whether the item is a pack, kit or Maker Pack.
Check My Collection and download status
Open the in-game Marketplace and select My Collection. A grey Not Installed label signals that the content still needs to be downloaded. Use Manage Storage to check which items are present. A purchase being associated with your account does not always mean the content has finished installing.
For purchases made in the EA app, check The Sims 4 in your library and review available add-ons through the management controls. In-game Download Manager can confirm recent completed downloads; it is not a complete permanent history. If you recently purchased something while offline, reconnect before deciding it is unavailable.
| Where you bought it | Where to check first |
|---|---|
| In-game Marketplace | My Collection / Manage Storage |
| Web Marketplace on PC or Mac | My Collection in game; download if marked Not Installed |
| EA app | The Sims 4 library / Manage add-ons |
| Console | In-game Marketplace and linked platform account |
Make sure the game can actually display the item
Once installation is confirmed, search for the item in Build Mode or Create a Sim using the appropriate content filters. Maker Packs have their own filter. Do not mistake a missing filter result for a failed purchase before checking the item type and whether it belongs in that mode.
Restart the game or device and sign back in if content continues to be missing. Review purchase history for real-currency transactions. Do not delete saves, reinstall everything or purchase a second copy as the first troubleshooting step; preserve evidence of the original transaction.
When to contact EA or the platform
Contact official support if the content still does not appear after verifying ownership, account, platform and installation. Be ready with the item name, platform, relevant account information and screenshots of the affected Marketplace listing. Do not paste passwords, authentication tokens or payment details into a public report.
The Marketplace and its menus can evolve. Use the linked EA Help pages as the source of truth for the current interface and entitlement rules. This checklist is not a promise that every failed download can be fixed locally.
