Learn the core extraction loop and create a sensible first-run routine for managing risk, inventory and return routes.

01 / 03

Understand the extraction loop

ARC Raiders sends players from a safer base area to a dangerous surface containing machines, resources and other Raiders. The goal is to return successfully with valuable finds.

Because both machine and human threats are present, a run is not simply a linear story mission. Route choice and deciding when to leave are as important as any individual fight.

02 / 03

Prepare before going topside

Check the equipment you are willing to risk, identify a modest objective and leave enough capacity for useful items. Familiarize yourself with the map and the possible return options available to your session.

Do not equip every valuable item just because you own it. For learning runs, prioritize repeatable decisions: getting information, avoiding noise and spotting safe paths.

03 / 03

Know when to leave

When your objectives are complete or your resources run low, reassess whether an extra room is worth the risk. The value of loot matters only if you successfully carry it out.

Other players may approach your route and machines can create pressure unexpectedly. A simple extraction plan with a backup direction can be more valuable than pursuing one more container.
