Compare cautious solo play with coordinated group decisions across gathering, avoiding threats and getting home.
Solo play rewards clear boundaries
When you play alone, set a narrow objective and know how you intend to exit if the situation changes. Carefully weigh the cost of a fight against completing the objective.
Observe machine patrols and other Raiders before committing to a route. A retreat is not wasted time if it protects the resources you already acquired.
Squads need explicit roles
Agree on a destination and a regroup plan. Communicate confirmed threats, when someone needs assistance and which resources matter for the current run.
Spread out enough to avoid getting surprised together, but not so far that teammates cannot help. Speak clearly before changing direction, especially near crowded extraction paths.
A shared end-of-run check
Near the end, ask whether everyone has enough resources to continue and what the group gains by extending the run. Compare that gain against losing collected loot.
Make the extraction decision as a team. Do not treat the last unexplored room as mandatory simply because it is nearby.
