How it works

Get practical value from manual shots without wasting AP.

02

Practical strategy

Follow the chapters in order, practise each system in a safe encounter, and revisit your Pictos, weapon scaling and AP flow when a step stops working.

03

Mistakes to avoid

Treating every build or boss sequence as identical across all save files and patches leads to avoidable mistakes.

ORIGINAL VOLPEDIA / FIVE CHAPTERS

Free Aim and weak-point targeting: walkthrough

01

Identify your target

Some enemies offer visible weak points or objects that can be targeted with Free Aim. Look for a clear mechanical purpose rather than firing blindly at every body part.

02

Understand resource tradeoffs

Check the AP and other costs displayed in the game before shooting. Using Free Aim can be excellent, but it should not leave you unable to use a critical heal on the next turn.

03

Practise slowly

Start with stationary or readable targets. Learn the aiming input separately from the real-time defense rhythm so each task gets deliberate attention.

04

Time with the party

If Free Aim can help expose an opening, decide which party member follows up. A setup is only valuable if the team can exploit it.

05

Avoid assumptions

Enemy vulnerabilities differ. Do not trust a universal weak-point list without confirming the actual creature and current version of the game.
