How to spend character attributes: walkthrough

01

Understand the categories

Attribute points affect survivability, offensive output and other combat properties. The best allocation varies with the weapon and the role that the character actually performs.

02

Inspect the equipped weapon

Read the weapon’s scaling before distributing a level-up. A character with the wrong allocation may waste the passive or scaling strengths of an otherwise good weapon.

03

Balance survivability

Newer players benefit from a margin for mistimed dodges. Build enough durability to learn the encounter before optimizing full offensive output.

04

Support the rotation

Do not ignore turn frequency, AP and character synergy. Higher isolated damage may produce less overall party damage if the fighter gets fewer useful actions.

05

Reconsider with new equipment

Changing to a weapon with different scaling is a valid reason to use respec resources. Keep a record of what changed so you can assess whether the new setup is actually better.
