How it works

Master the core customization system and plan passive budgets.

02

Practical strategy

Follow the chapters in order, practise each system in a safe encounter, and revisit your Pictos, weapon scaling and AP flow when a step stops working.

03

Mistakes to avoid

Treating every build or boss sequence as identical across all save files and patches leads to avoidable mistakes.

ORIGINAL VOLPEDIA / FIVE CHAPTERS

Pictos and Lumina explained: walkthrough

01

The three Picto slots

Each fighter may equip up to three Pictos. They contribute stats and passives while equipped, and individual Pictos cannot be equipped by multiple characters at once. Select a balance between survivability and offensive payoff.

02

Learning a Lumina

Keep a Picto equipped for four battles to master its passive. After mastery, that effect can be selected as a Lumina without requiring the original Picto to remain equipped, provided the fighter can pay its Lumina cost.

03

Budget points per fighter

Lumina Points are tracked separately for each party member. A passive’s point cost is not automatically affordable just because another character has it. Match the loadout to the points available on the exact fighter.

04

Choose your effect family

For a first run, prioritize one dependable defensive or healing effect and enough AP support to execute the character’s loop. Add damage-oriented effects once you can reliably handle the enemy’s attack rhythm.

05

Use the update presets

The free Thank You update introduced Lumina loadouts. Keep one general exploration set and one boss-learning set, then swap according to the encounter instead of rebuilding every passive after a loss.
