Hollow Knight benches and Stag Stations: safer exploration routes

Use rest points and fast travel together to avoid repeating the same dangerous journey.

Use rest points and fast travel together to avoid repeating the same dangerous journey.

01 / 03

Understand the mechanic

Benches establish rest and charm-management points, while Stag Stations connect areas once discovered and activated. A region with a nearby station can become a practical starting point for several new routes rather than a dead-end challenge.

02 / 03

Put it into practice

Before a long detour, look at your nearest bench and any unlocked station. If you have a large amount of Geo, consider whether purchasing an important map item or upgrade is safer than carrying it into an unfamiliar boss area.

  1. 01Identify the nearest rest point
  2. 02Mark the station entrance
  3. 03Spend Geo when sensible
  4. 04Plan one exploration objective per trip
03 / 03

Common mistake to avoid

Not every room connects directly to a station and resting may change which enemies are present. Fast travel is a network of discovered access points, not a universal teleport to any coordinate.
