How to plan a Minecraft house
- Choose dimensions. Start with a 16×16 or 24×24 plot, then adapt it to your terrain and building style.
- Sketch the shell. Use wall, door and window tiles. The tool estimates a wall column using your chosen wall height.
- Plan your interior. Mark storage, beds, stairs and floor areas as layout reminders before gathering materials.
- Save or share. Download a PNG to use while building. A shared URL carries the layout, not your private saved project name.
Understanding the material estimate
The calculator is intentionally approximate. Each wall cell represents a vertical column of blocks; windows replace one block with glass, and doors reserve a two-block opening. The floor count includes only floor tiles you explicitly place. It does not estimate roofing, foundations, overhangs, landscaping, roof stair rotation, hidden redstone or additional decoration. Use the numbers as a shopping-list starting point, not an exact bill of materials.

Does this build my house in Minecraft? No. It generates a 2D planning reference rather than a structure file or an in-game command. That avoids claiming compatibility with specific game versions or mods.
Can I edit a friend's house? Yes, open a link they share and modify it locally. The URL contains only the encoded grid, not saved names or account data.
Does the tool upload my project? No. Drawing, exporting and optional local saving run in your browser. A link is shared only when you choose to copy and send it.
