ORIGINAL VOLPEDIA FIELD GUIDE

Fishing: Beginner to Legendary: detailed walkthrough

01

Practice green-bar control

Hold and release your fishing input to control the green catch bar; smooth movement is usually safer than panic tapping. Maintain overlap with the moving fish until the capture meter fills. Early skill levels make harder fish challenging.

02

Upgrade tools carefully

More capable rods permit suitable bait or tackle. Buff foods and equipment can make control more forgiving, while the Training Rod helps practice basics. A beginner rod does not grant every accessory option.

03

Use a weather calendar

A Catfish can require rain while Tuna and Sturgeon are associated with different seasonal waters. Check each target in its dedicated profile rather than fishing at the same pond all year. Evening-specific catches demand attention to in-game time.

04

Master special targets

Legendary fish have particular seasons, locations and skill expectations. Plan a specific day rather than treating them as ordinary market fish. Recovery supplies and extra space help with long attempts.

05

Add processing only when useful

Fish Ponds and Fish Smokers offer alternatives to immediate sales. Evaluate the goal—bundle, cooking, gift, collection or gold—before using rare specimens as crafting inputs. Fish value depends on how the catch will be used later.
