ORIGINAL VOLPEDIA FIELD GUIDE

Mines Floor 1–120: detailed walkthrough

01

Start with equipment and stamina

Prepare a weapon, pickaxe, healing food and enough inventory space for ore, stone and monster drops. Unlike crop fields, cave runs expose you to both low energy and low health. Return home safely if your healing reserves are running low.

02

Use elevator checkpoints

Progress through the Mines in floor increments that unlock elevator stops. Treat a checkpoint as success even when you return early. Repeating productive floors for ore can be better than risking an unprepared deep run.

03

Upgrade by resource goals

Copper, Iron and Gold form a practical early upgrade ladder. Ore must be smelted with coal in a Furnace before it becomes a usable tool-upgrade bar. Schedule tool downtime around your farm work.

04

Adapt to stronger enemies

Movement and target priority matter. Slimes and other monsters vary in speed and threat; seek better weapons from progression and the Adventurer’s Guild rather than only increasing raw pickaxe tier.

05

Prepare your next mining objective

After clearing the regular mine path, begin planning for Skull Cavern and specialized locations. The two areas reward different pacing, especially when time, bombs and staircases matter.
