Overview
A flexible route through Terraria bosses, their milestones and the transition into Hardmode.
How it works
Many bosses are optional, while world evil changes which early boss appears and all three mechanical bosses are required for Plantera. The route is a suggested learning order, not a forced linear ladder.
How to use it
Start with a few early bosses to build mobility, move to Skeletron and Wall of Flesh, then prepare for mechanical bosses, Plantera, Golem, Lunatic Cultist, pillars and Moon Lord.
Mistakes to avoid
Do not assume a boss is mandatory merely because it appears between two main story gates.
Boss Progression Complete Route: detailed guide
Before Hardmode
King Slime teaches basic arena movement but is optional. Eye of Cthulhu is a useful early damage check. Choose the Eater of Worlds in Corruption or Brain of Cthulhu in Crimson. Queen Bee and Deerclops are additional optional loot opportunities. Skeletron opens the Dungeon. Wall of Flesh in the Underworld is the pivotal world-state change; postpone that fight until you have good movement and supplies.
Early Hardmode and mechanics
After Wall of Flesh, review new enemies, Hallow and world evil spread. Acquire Hardmode gear while protecting key settlements. Queen Slime is optional. Defeat The Destroyer, The Twins and Skeletron Prime in whichever order matches your build; use their materials to improve equipment and unlock Plantera Bulbs in the Underground Jungle.
The late game
Plantera opens the Jungle Temple and changes certain Dungeon possibilities. Defeat Golem, then consider optional challenges such as Duke Fishron or Empress of Light before the Lunar chain. Defeat the cultists at the Dungeon after Golem to summon Lunatic Cultist. This begins the Celestial Pillars, which lead to Moon Lord. Endgame farming and building can continue indefinitely.
Boss Atlas integration
For each milestone, use the existing Boss Progression Atlas to record victories locally. Its Corruption and Crimson switch is important: the default world branch normally supports only one of the two evil bosses. Match actual summon conditions, arena needs and current weapon tier to the world you are playing rather than following a checklist mechanically.
