01

Overview

Fish for resources, quest items and useful alternatives to dangerous exploration.

02

How it works

Fishing success depends on water conditions, rods, bait and biome; some rewards become relevant after world milestones.

03

How to use it

Build access to useful biome ponds and dedicate storage to bait, crates and quest materials.

04

Mistakes to avoid

Do not expect one fishing setup to serve all conditions identically.

ORIGINAL VOLPEDIA WALKTHROUGH

Fishing and Crate Farming: detailed guide

01

Build a practical fishing spot

Choose a body of water large enough for sensible fishing power, with a protected standing point and accessible storage. Keep bait and a fishing rod in the same chest. Explore multiple biomes to meet changing quest fish requirements.

02

Increase reliability

Upgrade rods, bait and fishing buffs as convenient. Weather, moon phase and time can affect output, but you do not need perfect conditions to begin. Fish while waiting for other progression goals instead of standing idle for one rare item.

03

Crates and progression

Crates can supply potions, materials and other gear, and their value can change with the world stage. Decide whether to open or hold them based on your needs, and check your actual game version if following older crate-farming advice.

04

Make Angler quests manageable

Meet the Angler and check the requested fish, then visit the appropriate biome. A network of pylons can shorten travel. Organize spare quest-fishing equipment and collect rewards over time rather than turning fishing into a mandatory grind.
