How it works
This original five-chapter guide explains post-plant and retake walkthrough through the real objectives, maps and decision-making systems of Counter-Strike 2. It distinguishes stable mechanics from dated Premier or balance information.
Practical strategy
Begin with know where the bomb is; then work through assign crossfire responsibilities. Put the steps into practice one at a time before queueing ranked.
Mistakes to avoid
Do not copy old CS:GO lineups, assume a fixed matchmaking rotation or change five habits at once. Evaluate whether each step actually solves your round problem.
Post-plant and retake walkthrough: step-by-step
Know where the bomb is
A planted bomb has a specific exposed defuse position and timer. Post-plant players should know which route covers it; CTs should plan who has a defuse kit and utility.
Assign crossfire responsibilities
Two attackers hold different angles so the CTs cannot clear both with one pre-fire. One player may listen for defuse taps while another watches a flank.
Retake in one shared timing
CTs should group enough to flash or smoke an approach, clear likely positions and protect the first defuse attempt. Independent peeks often gift the attackers separate duels.
Decide whether to save
If there are too few players or no viable time left, preserving expensive weapons can be better than a hopeless entry. Communicate the decision and choose a safe exit.
Review time pressure
After a loss, check when the retake started, which utility remained, whether a kit was available and which post-plant crossfire you ignored. These are usually controllable next match.
