Overview
A late major boss whose second phase shifts toward close-range grapples and shockwaves.
How it works
Jumping is useful against some ground shockwaves, while grapples demand precise lateral movement.
How to approach it
Learn which shockwaves can be jumped and preserve stamina to escape close pressure.
Common mistakes
Do not assume a shield can block every grab in the second phase.
Godfrey, First Elden Lord: step by step
First phase timing
Godfrey mixes axe pressure with arena-wide ground effects. Some shockwaves can be avoided by jumping when timed correctly, whereas his weapon swings require a different defense.
Hoarah Loux phase
Later he abandons parts of his initial fighting style and closes in with grapples, stomps and aggressive body attacks. The change rewards re-learning safe distances instead of simply repeating first-phase positioning.
Repeatable plan
Remain mobile, recognize the start of grab sequences and attack only after the final committed motion. Preserve stamina rather than chasing a charged attack during his recovery feints.
