How to build a sphere in Minecraft

  1. Choose a diameter and whether you need a complete sphere or only its upper hemisphere (dome).
  2. For a hollow build, choose a shell thickness. The algorithm includes block centers within a mathematical spherical surface.
  3. Follow each numbered horizontal slice. Top layers are shown first; consider starting at the widest bottom layer and supporting upper layers with scaffolding.
  4. Collect the block total and a few spare blocks. Export the full text plan or a single layer as SVG.
