ORIGINAL VOLPEDIA FIELD GUIDE

From Year One to Ginger Island: detailed walkthrough

01

Establish reliable farming

Your early game is about stable income and learning the clock, seasons, shops and people. A small irrigated plot plus fishing and mining usually offers a more resilient path than filling every tile with manual watering.

02

Invest in equipment and town goals

Upgrade your backpack and tools, start smelting bars, and accumulate special items for Community Center rooms. Different playstyles may favor early minecarts, greenhouse or bus progress.

03

Build an artisan economy

Use buildings, animals and processing machinery to turn scattered resources into a steady routine. Refine sprinkler coverage and storage organization to free hours for combat, relationships and exploration.

04

Unlock advanced regions

Access the desert, Skull Cavern and then Ginger Island by their respective story conditions. Expect different resource challenges, enemy threats and long-term puzzles in each region.

05

Choose endgame objectives

Qi challenges, Mastery rewards, rare collections, island walnut hunting and Perfection are optional pursuits. Use them to extend a farm you enjoy rather than presenting one path as the only correct way to play.
