Editorial review: 2026-10-27 · Patch context 13.08 · Not live map rotationAscent is defined by central map control and mechanical doors near the sites. Closing a door can temporarily strengthen a defense, but enemies can destroy it and the action itself gives away information.
Use mid to create two credible choices, then coordinate the timing of a site push with any door interaction. Be aware that breaking a door is loud and may trigger a defender response.
Contest middle enough to gain information without risking all site control. Decide ahead of time who will hold the door-side approach if opponents destroy the barrier.
The doors change the flow of a round: a secured entrance is temporary, not guaranteed. Mid control helps attackers create a split without overcommitting.
After planting, avoid relying on a closed door as the only early warning. Hold a position from which a teammate can help if it breaks.
Treating a door as a permanent wall or destroying it too early without a follow-up plan.
Load Ascent in a custom game. Walk both site approaches, test the main rotation, and practice one coordinated entry and one retake. Repeat after major map geometry changes.
