ORIGINAL VOLPEDIA / FIVE CHAPTERS

Stella Montis: close-quarters decisions: complete guide

01

Prepare for interior angles

Stella Montis has enclosed areas and varied elevations. Plan how you will move from one room to another without being pinned by a single doorway. In multi-level interiors, consider whether a stairwell or upper walkway creates a second line of sight over your cover. Save a short retreat route for a sudden machine patrol or another Raider pushing your floor.

02

Listen before entry

Audio can indicate nearby Raiders or ARC, but silence is not proof that an area is clear. Pause and watch the surrounding approaches before looting.

03

Avoid prolonged door fights

A loud battle in a choke can attract a third party. Back out, change level or find a second entrance rather than committing every healing item.

04

Watch vertical lines

Look above stairwells and down across balconies; ground-level cover may not block upper sightlines. In enclosed spaces, the sound of a nearby opponent may arrive from a different floor than you expect.

05

Extract with discipline

If you have acquired the needed item, avoid returning through the noisiest rooms merely for optional containers. Take the quietest connected corridor you know and reserve energy for a final unexpected encounter.
