Passive and friendly creatures
Cows, pigs, sheep and chickens supply renewable materials when housed and bred correctly. Bees, frogs and aquatic animals have environmental needs; moving them into unsafe conditions can damage or kill them. Friendly helpers such as wolves and allays are useful for company, combat or item collection, but their capabilities have specific limits. Taming a creature does not mean it becomes immune to fire, falls or hostile mobs.
Neutral mobs need attention
Endermen are dangerous after provocation, piglins follow special gold-related rules and some water creatures attack when bothered. The safest first response is observation, not an immediate attack. Some neutral behavior changes with location and conditions; this matters most near Nether loot rooms and void edges. Learn which interaction triggers aggression so you can gather resources without turning a routine journey into a fight.
Hostile mobs and combat roles
Creepers punish bad positioning and weak base walls. Skeletons and pillagers attack from a distance, zombies move into melee and witches complicate encounters with potions. Guardians defend underwater monuments; blazes and ghasts make Nether crossings difficult; shulkers create levitation risks in End cities. Each calls for a different combination of cover, weapon range, mobility, shields and preparation. Good lighting and barriers reduce unnecessary contact around your home.
Bosses and major threats
The Ender Dragon is a progression milestone whose healing crystals shape the encounter. The Wither is summoned by players and can destroy nearby structures. Wardens are a danger associated with deep-dark exploration and are better treated as an avoidance problem until you have a clear reason to fight. Look beyond raw weapon damage: status effects, terrain, escape routes and the loss of your equipment are often the deciding factors.
