01

Overview

Approach tougher overworld encounters with a survival plan.

02

How it works

Alpha Pokémon are imposing encounters that demand more care than common wild Pokémon. They can be more dangerous to approach, and poor positioning can put both the trainer and active Pokémon at risk.

03

How to play

Observe attack patterns before committing; bring healing and save strong moves for moments when the target is vulnerable. If your party is underprepared, return later rather than exhausting supplies.

04

Mistakes to avoid

Do not guarantee that every alpha encounter has the same location or reward, since conditions and availability can depend on progression.

01

Read the battlefield

Stay aware of escape routes and avoid fighting while backed into a corner.

02

Capture or defeat

Decide whether your objective is to catch the Pokémon. If so, use controlled damage instead of your strongest finisher.
