01

Overview

What the postgame expansion adds and when its story begins.

02

How it works

Mega Dimension is additional content set after the main story. Strange spatial distortions appear around Lumiose City, and Team MZ investigates locations leading to Hyperspace Lumiose. Hoopa is central to entering these areas.

03

How to play

Finish the main story before expecting to advance through the DLC narrative. Prepare a well-rounded team and be ready for powerful encounters, new Mega Evolutions and the unusual conditions of hyperspace zones.

04

Mistakes to avoid

Do not present Mega Dimension creatures or special locations as part of the ordinary base-game wild zones. Distinguish the DLC clearly in guides and check whether a reader owns the expansion.

IN-DEPTH GUIDE

Go further: Mega Dimension DLC: how it works

01

What changes in exploration

Hyperspace Lumiose resembles the city but has different Pokémon and challenges. Some encounters use hyperspace levels that exceed the normal level-100 ceiling.

02

Relevant Pokémon

Official examples include Hoopa and Mega Raichu X/Y, Mega Chimecho and Mega Baxcalibur. This is a sample, not a complete DLC Pokédex.

03

Before you enter

Finish the base story, stock restorative items and make sure you understand the Mega Evolution flow. DLC progress and item acquisition should be tracked separately from the base story.
