ORIGINAL VOLPEDIA FIELD GUIDE

Greenhouse Layout and Crop Rotation: detailed walkthrough

01

Unlock through Pantry progression

The Greenhouse becomes available through the relevant Community Center room or alternate development path. Until then, treat year-round planting plans as future priorities and avoid assuming you already have permanent-season crops.

02

Plan watering before seeds

Quality and Iridium Sprinklers cover predictable grid shapes. Design a working route that allows every harvest and machine visit, not only theoretical perfect tile coverage. Fruit trees have their own placement rules and cannot be treated as ordinary tilled crops.

03

Select crops for your equipment

Ancient Fruit can be attractive for its recurring harvests, while other crops may suit different cash-flow or processing goals. Include seed availability, first harvest delay and machines on the rest of your farm when comparing approaches.

04

Maintain a simple harvesting rhythm

Keep spare seeds, a chest and a processing plan for regular collection days. A small organized greenhouse is often more useful than a complicated system you cannot remember when busy with fishing, mining and social events.

05

Coordinate with Ginger Island

When Ginger Island becomes available, use both spaces according to travel time, crop strengths and current Perfection needs. The island is a separate, later-game unlock, so this comparison does not apply to new saves.
