Overview
Explain the 28-day crop economy and repeat harvests.
How it works
Explain the 28-day crop economy and repeat harvests. Plan around season length, tool capacity and the objectives that matter to your save.
Practical advice
Compare profitability after seed cost, planting day and machine throughput.
Mistakes to avoid
Do not multiply a first-day crop profit across all 28 days if it regrows slowly.
Seasonal Crop Planning: detailed walkthrough
Read the season calendar
Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter each last 28 days. Most outdoor crops die when their season changes; there are exceptions for multi-season plants, and 1.6 adds the winter-growing Powdermelon. Check planting day plus growth days; a late crop that cannot mature has zero normal-season harvests.
Single harvest versus regrowth
A Parsnip is replanted after collection, while Blueberry and Cranberries yield repeatedly once mature. For regrowth crops, the first growth period is usually the largest timing constraint. Extra seeds on day 20 are not equivalent to seeds on day 1. Leave walkways around trellis crops.
Turn raw revenue into actual profit
Subtract seed costs from the revenue of all planned harvests. Multiplied yields, plant quality and professions can change totals; artisan processing adds capacity limitations, not free instant profit. Our existing Crop Profit Planner shows a conservative normal-quality comparison for 21 crops.
Make machinery the bottleneck visible
Kegs, Preserves Jars, Dehydrators and animal machines can add value but process different inputs at different speeds. If you harvest more items than you can process before the next season, storing or selling raw items may be practical. Use the greenhouse and island farm for durable long-running crops.
Re-check every season change
Reserve next-season seed money, confirm sprinkler coverage, and move special seasonal targets into a separate chest. Treat crop prices in the planner as estimates tied to its documented assumptions rather than universal earnings for every profession and quality.
