What each agent role contributes
Duelists are usually designed to take or create favorable fights. Initiators help their team gather information or make entry safer. Controllers influence sightlines and space, often through smoke-style utility. Sentinels specialize in holding, watching or securing areas.
Roles explain an agent’s intended strengths, but not an automatic win condition. A good composition still needs communication, map understanding and a plan for using abilities together.
Build a useful five-player composition
Start by answering three practical questions: who creates an opening, who helps the team enter safely, and who protects areas or routes afterward? A balanced composition can make these tasks easier, but it is not mandatory to run exactly one agent of every role.
For beginners, coordinating basic utility with teammates is more valuable than memorizing a “perfect” lineup that changes with patches.
A simple way to learn a new agent
Read the current ability descriptions in the game, then practice one clear sequence: prepare an entry, call the utility, and follow your teammate. Later add map-specific variations.
