Calculate effective DPI, compare setups and avoid treating a sensitivity number as a universal best setting.
What eDPI means
Effective DPI is calculated by multiplying the mouse hardware DPI by the game’s sensitivity. For example, 800 DPI multiplied by 0.35 sensitivity yields an eDPI of 280.
eDPI is useful for comparing settings inside the same game. It does not automatically make sensitivity numbers comparable across different games with different rotation scales.
Use the interactive calculator
Open Volpedia Tools and enter the DPI configured in your mouse software and your current VALORANT sensitivity. The tool calculates the product locally in your browser.
If you switch mice, confirm the physical DPI first. A setting labeled 800 DPI is only meaningful when the device is actually using that value.
Choose a repeatable practice process
Test a candidate setting for comfort and consistency. Use familiar movements instead of changing DPI and sensitivity every time you lose a duel.
Desk space, grip style and physical comfort matter. Treat professional player settings as examples for experimentation, not evidence of a universally optimal number.
