Editorial review: 2026-10-27 · Patch context 13.08 · Not live map rotationSunset is a dense urban arena with a conventional three-lane structure and meaningful mid-to-site connections. The important decision is not just which entrance to use, but who owns the alternative route.
Use early mid information to threaten one site while setting up a different entry. Before the execute, assign one teammate to watch the rotation path instead of sending every player through one narrow entrance.
Establish whether attackers have taken mid before committing to a hard rotate. A defender who leaves their assigned connector too early can allow a late split onto a site.
Control of the middle of the map can create a pincer; it should still be paired with information about defenders on the outer lane.
After planting, spread across complementary angles rather than stacking one choke. Keep an escape route for the player who has to play for time.
Ignoring mid for the entire half and expecting the same single-lane attack to keep working.
Load Sunset in a custom game. Walk both site approaches, test the main rotation, and practice one coordinated entry and one retake. Repeat after major map geometry changes.
