01

Overview

A formidable optional dragon encounter associated with Jagged Peak.

02

How it works

The dragon's size and fire-lightning attacks demand careful spacing and camera awareness.

03

How to approach it

Use the terrain and learn attacks that are safer at the flank than directly in front.

04

Common mistakes

Do not insist on a permanent head lock-on during large close-range movements.

ORIGINAL VOLPEDIA WALKTHROUGH

Bayle the Dread: step by step

01

Jagged Peak expedition

Bayle is an optional major dragon encounter in a special mountainous DLC route. The climb and its other dragon encounters are useful preparation for the scale of the finale.

02

Camera and target selection

A large dragon can make head lock-on disorienting when you are close. Learn when to unlock, reposition toward safer angles and watch where the fire and lightning effects land.

03

Damage windows

Commit when Bayle finishes a dive or large breath rather than during continuous movement. Keep defensive resources for the next airborne or area attack, not solely for damage.
