How it works
Record exactly which penalties you selected, not just their total Heat. Incoming damage, enemy speed, healing limits and changed boss patterns create very different problems.
Practical strategy
Bounty progress is separate across arms and Heat milestones. Use a small record of successful conditions so the next challenge remains intentional and worthwhile.
Common mistake to avoid
Do not treat one particular boon or drop as guaranteed; adapt the guide to the run you receive.

Record exactly which penalties you selected, not just their total Heat. Incoming damage, enemy speed, healing limits and changed boss patterns create very different problems. Practical check: before the next escape, identify the one action or resource that will make this step easier. The best guide is one you can test room by room, rather than a fixed sequence that depends on random rewards.
Match weapon and conditions
Aegis protection may help against direct pressure, while ranged arms offer safer positioning. But a timed condition can punish excessive blocking and slow room clears. In a real run, watch for the exact moment when this plan stops being comfortable: an enemy projectile, an unfavorable chamber reward or a poor health total. That point tells you whether to change positioning or build direction.
Build for the weakest segment
If you consistently fall in Elysium, plan the Keepsake switch and HP choices around the Champions. If Styx poison defeats you, practice cleansing and tunnel routing. Try this deliberately on your next attempt, without also changing weapon and Mirror setup at the same time. Keeping other variables stable makes the result easier to judge and helps you learn what worked.
Avoid combining unknown penalties
Explore Extreme Measures changes before pairing them with high Forced Overtime or Hard Labor. Learning a new pattern while under multiple pressures makes feedback difficult to interpret. If the encounter becomes risky, first preserve an open path to safety. There is rarely a reason to sacrifice an entire Death Defiance just to complete one more attack animation during a dangerous telegraph.
Track progress weapon by weapon
Bounty progress is separate across arms and Heat milestones. Use a small record of successful conditions so the next challenge remains intentional and worthwhile. Before leaving the region, ask whether you gained combat consistency, permanent resources or useful narrative progress. Any of those makes the next run stronger, even when this particular escape does not succeed.
