02

How it works

Stronghold navigation, End crystals and the void create a multi-stage challenge.

Based on established Minecraft mechanics and the released 2026 game drops. Java and Bedrock behavior, recipes, experimental toggles and available features can differ.

Go further: Preparing for the End

01 / 04

Collect progression materials

You need a route through the Nether for blaze rods and a supply of Ender pearls to craft Eyes of Ender. A stronghold contains the End portal frame; its existing eyes can vary. Bring a surplus because locating the stronghold can consume eyes during travel. The important goal is not just crafting enough eyes, but arriving at the portal with repaired equipment, food and spare resources.

02 / 04

Pack for the arena

Bring a strong ranged weapon and enough arrows or supported alternatives to handle End crystals, a dependable melee weapon, blocks for navigation and good food. Consider safe-falling options, water where appropriate and additional healing. Protect your inventory with a clear respawn strategy before entering. The central island has endermen, so control your gaze and avoid unnecessarily provoking them.

03 / 04

Handle the dragon methodically

The dragon heals from End crystals on top of the obsidian pillars, so deal with these rather than only attacking its health directly. Some crystals are caged and may need a careful elevated approach. When the dragon lands, choose a safe attack window rather than chasing constantly. Watch for knockback and falling threats near the island edge. Always reserve a path away from a dangerous situation.

04 / 04

What happens after victory

Defeating the dragon opens progression into deeper End exploration, including routes toward outer islands and possible End cities and elytra. It is easy to lose valuable items by bridging too quickly over the void or fighting shulkers without fall protection. Plan a controlled expedition with supplies and a way home; the End is still dangerous even after the main boss is defeated.
