Use map fragments, markers and Sites of Grace to explore the Lands Between without losing useful discoveries.
Your map is a planning tool, not a quest checklist
As you explore, you reveal landmarks and acquire map fragments that clarify terrain. Discovered Sites of Grace become useful reference points and often travel destinations when fast travel is permitted. The game does not always provide a conventional quest log, so manually recording a merchant, locked door or dangerous boss can save repeated detours.
The direction indicated by Guidance of Grace suggests places to investigate, but it does not mean every other area is forbidden. You can return later after strengthening equipment or learning an enemy pattern. This flexibility is an important part of exploration.
Keep markers meaningful
Use a consistent scheme: one marker for an unexplored cave, another for a boss you deliberately postponed and another for a useful vendor. Avoid filling the map with identical pins or you will forget what they mean. If you are playing without an external notebook, keep your marker legend simple.
On entering a dangerous location, identify the nearest safe return point before taking major risks. Some dungeons restrict map access or fast travel temporarily. Do not plan an emergency escape route that assumes you can teleport from anywhere at any time.
Turn exploration into steady progression
After a difficult encounter, ask whether the problem was insufficient damage, poor survival, or misunderstanding the enemy. A different route may yield crafting resources, better weapon upgrades or an easier practice area. Use previously marked locations as a personal list of optional objectives.
The map also helps you notice gaps in exploration. Revisit suspicious roads, entrances and terrain changes after finding new tools. Keep spoiler-sensitive story notes separate from simple navigation markers if you want to preserve surprise.
