Move materials between machines without confusing belt direction and production rates.

01 / 03

Understand the mechanic

Conveyor Splitters distribute incoming parts between outputs, while Mergers combine input flows. They let a factory reuse production across lines, but each belt has a throughput limit that still constrains how many parts reach a machine.

02 / 03

Put it into practice

Trace one item from miner to finished part and identify where the belt is starved or blocked. Start with a simple manifold or balanced design you can inspect visually before attempting complex belt geometry.

  1. 01Mark belt flow direction
  2. 02Check producer rates
  3. 03Count consuming machines
  4. 04Confirm belts can carry the total
03 / 03

Common mistake to avoid

Adding more belts does not solve a recipe bottleneck automatically. Match the combined production rate to the consumers and respect the current belt tier.
