Learn why a factory stops when its power consumption exceeds reliable production.

01 / 03

Understand the mechanic

Manufacturing machines need a powered grid, and early energy production depends on a continuing fuel supply. As new constructors and miners join the network, demand rises; a working setup can fail after one extra machine comes online.

02 / 03

Put it into practice

Watch consumption versus production and maintain fuel supply before extending the factory. Segment long production chains into areas where you can quickly find which machine is consuming power. Power management is a production task, not an afterthought.

  1. 01Check power demand
  2. 02Fuel the generators
  3. 03Expand capacity before new machines
  4. 04Find the first stalled line
03 / 03

Common mistake to avoid

A factory that occasionally works may still have insufficient continuous generation. Do not size the grid from idle consumption alone.
