What is Defect Lightning Frost and Dark Decisions?
A practical original guide to defect lightning frost and dark decisions, organized around actual Slay the Spire 1 decisions and the threats those decisions must solve.
This reference covers gameplay decisions in the original Slay the Spire. Character-specific options and relic synergy can change how useful an item is, so consider your current deck, health, upcoming enemy and available resources before applying a strategy.
When and how to use it
Start with the first section of this walkthrough, apply its sequence in a real run, then adapt the recommendation to the cards, relics and map you actually received.
What to avoid
Do not treat this as a predetermined perfect deck or guaranteed seed; enemy intents, card rewards, potion availability and path options change every run.
Step-by-step guide
Frost for survivability
Coolheaded, Cold Snap and Glacier combine orb creation with draw, damage or Block. Defragment and other Focus effects scale orb value, while extra slots allow broader defense. A Frost deck still needs a boss-finishing answer.
Lightning for group control
Lightning attacks and Electrodynamics make clustered encounters much easier. Targeting can be less predictable without AOE help, so high-priority minions may still need direct attacks. Use Block to survive while passive damage clears the field.
Dark for deliberate finishing
Darkness can create an orb that grows as the battle goes on. Evoking the charged orb at the right time is a tactical decision, not a passive guarantee. Think about slot count, next channel, and whether the target can be finished this turn.
